With a new year comes a host of "resolutions" in the hopes of making this one better than the last. However,  resolutions are simply intentions - there is no concrete, actionable plan to ensure they are accomplished. Goals, on the other hand, are put in writing and looked at constantly. Today, we're going to talk about the most effective way to set goals and ensure you achieve them by the end of the year.

A good place to start? Read The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. I'll highlight a few points from the book to give you an idea of how it could help you make 2015 your best year yet.

One of the big topics in the book is Rear-View Mirror Syndrome. The book states that 95% of people live their life looking in the rear-view mirror instead of out the front windshield. It's impossible to move forward and progress when you're looking in the rear-view mirror because too many people tend to look at the negatives of their past - whether it's their upbringing, finances, or hardships in life.

If you surround yourself with positive people and the life SAVERS he talks about in the book, it's going to make all the difference. SAVERS is shorthand for the six different things you should do each morning:
  • Silence: Take a period of silence each morning to think your day out in advance.
  • Affirmations: Think about how you're going to be the best at what you do.
  • Visualization: Take a minute to visualize what success looks like to you.
  • Exercise: To have a sound mind, you need to keep your body in good physical condition as well.
  • Reading: Feed your brain with good books that will motivate you and keep you positive throughout the day.
  • Scripting: Take notes and do your daily logs to get your brain and your business moving.
Remember, you are the five people you spend the most time with. If you surround yourself with negative deadbeats, you're going to be negative. Surround yourself with overachievers and you will have an awesome 2015!

If you have any questions about how you can make this year your best yet, or want to talk real estate, don't hesitate to give me a call or shoot me an email. I would love to hear from you!
