Should You Sell During the Holidays?

The holiday season is here and every year people ask whether it's best to keep their home on the market or just re-list in the spring. You may have heard Wayne Gretzky's quote, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" Well, selling your home is the same philosophy. If you take your home off the market, you're missing out on all of the buyers that are looking during the winter months.

It's true that there are less buyers on the market during Nov. - Jan., but there's also less inventory, which means your home is of higher value to those buyers that are looking. Real estate is a supply and demand business; the less supply the higher price you can get for your home.

Plus, you can be sure that those buyers out looking at homes during a snow storm or 20 degree weather aren't just tire kickers. They are serious buyers and need to purchase a home; why can't it be yours?

My advice is don't take your home off the market during the holidays. Get ahead of your spring competition. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call!
